Republicans to Host Annual Barbecue

Tim Wilson, Chairman of the Boundary County Republican Central Committee, invites everyone to attend the annual Republican Barbecue, which will be held on September 12 from 11am to 1pm on the slab at the fairgrounds.

Tim emphasized that the primary benefit for those attending the free barbecue will be the opportunity to speak personally with Senator Shawn Keough and Representative Eric Anderson who will also be in attendance.

"Our representatives will be there and this is a chance to get your voice heard," said Tim. "There are many issues right now such as school funding, the wolves as well as farmers and burning that need to be addressed."

Tim stressed that the Republican Barbecue is not just for Republicans.

"Anyone, whether Republican or not, is welcome to give our representatives input," he said. "This will be a comfortable, open forum. We will provide hamburgers and soft drinks. There will be no sitting for formal speeches. This may be your only opportunity to speak one-on-one with our representative and our senator."

For Republicans, Tim indicated that the barbecue will enable party members to get an idea of where the party is going.

"We will be able to show party solidarity," he commented, "and meet new and upcoming politicians who may be more responsive to the people of this state. This is an end of year opportunity to get close to our elected politicians and keep the community informed. If you're not happy with the way money is being spent in Washington, DC, I urge everyone to use every opportunity to speak with your elected representatives. They can only represent you if you tell them what you want."
