Date Set For Hospice Tree Of Memorial Lights Ceremony
Sandpoint Public Relations
Following a highly successful Rose Festival, Bonner Community Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, Kathryn Cooke today announced Sunday, December 6 at 4pm as the date and time of the annual Tree of Memorial Lights Ceremony.
The Ceremony takes place in four locations simultaneously: the Brown House in Sandpoint just north of Bonner General Hospital, the Free Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, the Priest River Library and the Catholic Church in Priest Lake.
For 16 years, Bonner Community Hospice has hosted the Tree of Memorial Lights for remembering and honoring loved ones.
Locally chosen speakers and musicians participate in each community, and the names of people being remembered are read aloud.
"Following the reading," Cooke said, "everyone goes outside for the lighting of the Tree at that location."
Typically invitations to the annual memorial event are sent to family members of the people who've been under Hospice care over the last year, as well as to those who have made a Hospice donation within the past two years. However, all residents of Bonner and Boundary counties are invited to participate in the Tree of Memorial Lights event.
