Bowling News



      

This year our league gathered on Valentine's Day for a night of fun after being off for a week because of Super Bowl Sunday. We had a couple of birthday's to celebrate. Karry Tanners' birthday was Feb. 15th, and a guest, Tia Austin, was a Valentine's baby. So, there were cakes to share with everyone and we sang happy birthday to them both. Now on to the news.

Leading the teams this week for high scratch game were the Gutter Rats with 690 and a 2021 for high scratch series. The Home Town Heroes had the high handicap score of 894 and The East L.A. Strikers had a 2509 for high handicap series.

Cathy Florea had a 170 for high series game for the women, Sherri Miller had a 479 for high scratch series,
Marcia had 229 for high handicap game, and Edith Myers had 653 for high handicap series.

Leading the men for high scratch scores was Kevin Stockton with a 234 game and a 656 series. Jerry Jimenez, Sr. had 274 for HHG and 717 for HHS.

Other 200 games bowled were by Evert Kittell with a 205, Frank Miller with a 207, George Schernitzki with a 210, Jerry Sr. and Kevin S. each with a 224.

Those having a 500 series were Jerry Sr. 567, George S. 573, Evert K. 521, Tom Florea 529, Terry Jeppesen 530, Frank M. and Buster Richards a 522 each.

Doubles were bowled by Jerry Sr., Evert K., Jon Rogers, Regis McNeill, Cathy F., Burt Eberly, Sherri M., Roger M., George S., Karry T., Brenda Park, Marcia M., Kevin S. (2), Terry J. (2), Buster R. (2), and Tom F. (4). Jeanie Richards, Frank, and George each had a turkey while Kevin had 3 of them. Buster, Roger, Kevin, and Evert all had a 4 bagger and Jerry Sr. had 5 in a row.
