Family services are planned in the spring for Margaret Jane Gibson, 87, St. Maries, who died January 24, 2004.
She and her twin brother, Bud, were born in Oakesdale, Washington, April 15, 1916, to John Martin and Maude Hall. Her father was a farmer, and she grew up in the small farm towns of the Palouse. In 1933, the family moved to the Benewah, and Margaret met Lloyd Gibson at a dance at the schoolhouse.
They were married in 1934 in St. Maries, and lived on the Benewah until moving into town in 1942.
Margaret was a homemaker for most of her life. She worked briefly at O'Dwyer Hardware, and later they purchased the Courthouse Texaco Station, where she did the bookkeeping. In 1970, they moved to their present home on St. Maries River Road.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1983.
She is survived by son Randy Gibson at the family home; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
