Hazel F. Austin



      

Memorial services were held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Mullan, for Hazel F. Austin, 86, Kellogg, who died March 1, 2004, at Mountain Valley Care and Rehab.

Hazel was born in Wallace November 11, 1917, to John and Freda Fisher. She attended schools in Mullan, graduating from Mullan High School. She went on to graduate from Kinman Business College in Spokane.

She was a lifelong area resident.

On April 1, 1941, she married Ray Austin in Wallace. He preceded her in death in 1999.

She worked as a clerk at the Mullan Post Office, clerked at two Mullan grocery stores and was a waitress at Ruby's Cafe. She was a devoted homemaker and loving wife and mother.

Hazel was a member of Order of the Easter Star for over 50 years and served as past Worthy Matron, and she was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by daughters Elizabeth Taghon, Anaheim, California, and Carol Sisk, Hayden, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
