|
|
The Cranbrook Fightermeet Airshow will take place Wednesday, May 21 at Canadian Rockies International Airport. With the Rocky Mountain snow peaks
in the background, this is North America's Majestic Airshow.
The Airshow will start in the afternoon with a full lineup of 24 aircraft, some of which to view, touch and smell. In addition, the grounds feature a County Fair with artisans, exhibits, children's activities and a quality barbecue
buffet.
The flight demonstrations begin at 6:15 p.m. with Canadian Forces 'The Snowbirds,' a nine-ship demonstration team. Guests will see demonstrations in a historical lineup of fighter aircraft from the pre WWII biplane Tiger Moth, the T6 Harvard, the impressive A-1 Skyraider, to the USAF A-10 Thunderbolt II and Netherlands Air Force F16.
Honoring our troops and veterans is part and parcel of this Airshow. Guests can purchase Veteran Fundraise Upgrade Tickets, giving them entry to the VIP area. Another creative way to support our troops and veterans is to participate in a special auction. Two lucky people will get a 'once in a lifetime' experience to fly in the Fouga Magister Jet Fighter Trainer or the heavy World War II T6 Harvard Fighter Trainer.
Opening bids start at U.S. $2,000 and will be open on May 12 at www.CranbrookAirshow.com.
All money raised will be split 50/50 with Royal Canadian Legion Br 24 (Cranbrook) to honor our local WWII veterans and the Canadian Armed Forces Military Families Fund.
The country fair will include displays by the Nanton Lancaster Air Museum and Mount Royal College aviation program. Several artisans will be on hand to discuss their art. There are special programs for the children. An interactive mega-slide offers fun for kids to jump, climb and cross.
