Elect Donna Capurso For BCSD Zone 2 Trustee
|
|
I would like to introduce Donna Capurso to you, the property owners and taxpayers of Boundary County, as a candidate for the School Board Trustee position representing the citizens living in Zone 2 of the Boundary County School District.
I have known Donna for approximately 23 years when she was a Fire/Police Dispatcher at the Fresno Police Department in California. At that time, she also trained new personnel in dispatch practices and procedures and was a Relief Supervisor for the approximate 15-18 employees who managed the Communications Center on her shift.
In her off-duty hours, Donna volunteered her time and energies to the Fresno Police Reserve Unit, where she served for approximately 10 years as a Reserve Sergeant. Donna has always been a virtual "Dynamo" of energy and enthusiasm in any enterprise that she has chosen to embark.
Donna moved to Cocolalla in 1997 and for the next eight out of nine years volunteered for both the Festival at Sandpoint and Lost in the 50's events, where she served as Chairperson for Backstage Hospitality and Security. While there, she also served as a director on the Bonner County Association of Realtors Board.
Donna and her husband of 25 years, Terry, moved to Boundary County in 2006 and own a real estate brokerage firm in Bonners Ferry. She currently serves as a Director and Secretary on the Selkirk Association of Realtors MLS Board of Directors and has been asked to serve as a panel member for the Professional Standards and Ethics Committee.
Donna also serves as a volunteer for the Idaho Real Estate Commission Education Council in Boise, where she assists in creating courses, drafting legislation, the certification of providers, instructors and developing curriculum for the approximate 12,000 real estate licensees in Idaho to raise the educational levels, knowledge, and professionalism of those individuals.
Donna is also a member of the Bonners Ferry Rotary, the Friends of Downtown Bonners Ferry, the Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce and has for a number of years been a contributor to the Sandpoint's and Bonners Ferry's Festival of Trees.
Donna has again volunteered her time, knowledge, and energies at this time, to run as a candidate for the BCSD # 101 Board of Trustees representing the citizens in Zone 2.
As a Realtor, Donna is acutely aware of the economic difficulties currently facing all the citizens, businesses and government offices in Boundary County. She believes that the number one priority of the school district should be to provide a "quality education" to each and every student in the district, not to "build and maintain reserve funds" in the school district's coffers.
She believes that this can be accomplished in a fiscally responsible manner and that all citizens should have a voice and be heard by school board trustees and district administration in matters involving school district operations.
Donna's primary goal will be the betterment of the Boundary County School District educational system through leadership, fiscal responsibility and an unerring willingness to listen. She has promised to try and create the best environment for our children to learn to be productive, responsible and well-educated adults.
If you would like to be heard and have a voice in the operations and activities of the Boundary County School District educational system, vote for Donna Capurso, School Board Trustee Zone 2.
