New Board Member for International Selkirk Loop

The Board of Directors of the International Selkirk Loop is pleased to announce the election of John Reed of Rossland B.C. to the Board.

Mr. Reed is the Director of Marketing for Redstone Golf Resort in Rossland. His experience in marketing and tourism includes more than 15 years of creating and managing remote expedition and day tour-focused adventures, development of a wilderness-based youth leadership curriculum for Selkirk College, and facilitating programs for Destination Marketing Organizations and Corporate Vancouver.

The Reed family moved to Rossland from Squamish in 2004, "looking for a nice safe and vibrant community" in which to raise their children. During his time in Rossland, Reed has served as President and Vice-President of the Rossland Chamber of Commerce and as President of Tourism Rossland.

Canadian Vice President of the Selkirk Loop, Mike Rowland, is thrilled to have Reed on board.

"We strive to attract Directors for our Board from the many communities on the Selkirk Loop, who are themselves stakeholders in tourism, and who see the benefit for the entire Loop region of working together to promote the area," he said. "John brings tremendous experience and passion to our Board. This is a very exciting development as we move forward with new projects aimed at enhancing community success through tourism."

The International Selkirk Loop is a non-profit society and its Board of Directors is elected from its membership. For more information about the Loop, or becoming a member, visit www.selkirkloop.org.
