Body of Sexual Abuse Suspect Found in Moyie River

Officials Think Hayden Man May Have Leaped Off Moyie River Bridge

      Editor

The body of a Kootenai County man linked to multiple victims of sexual abuse was discovered near a campground in Moyie Springs after he apparently jumped off the Moyie River Bridge.

The Boundary County Sheriff's Department recovered the body of Micky Allan Watson from the Moyie River on July 10 after several campers found Watson's body near the Twin Rivers Resort.

Officials believe that the 56-year-old Hayden resident - who was a suspect in a July 5 lewd conduct case in Kootenai County - jumped to his death from the bridge that sits about 425 feet above the Moyie River on Highway 2.

After Watson was released from jail on a $100,000 bond July 8, Kootenai County investigators identified three additional victims of sexual abuse and said they had planned on arresting him if they could locate him.

If anyone has additional information regarding Watson or additional crimes he may have been involved in, they are urged to contact Detective Sergeant Ken Lallatin at the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department at (208) 446-1300.
