Pete Earley, author of 2007 Pulitzer Prize finalist in non-fiction "Crazy: A Father's Search Through America's Mental Health Madness," will make an in-person presentation 7 p.m. at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint on Oct. 30.
Mr. Earley will lecture, read from and sign copies of his book and answer questions about his experience of having a son with mental illness whose behavior was criminalized by the 'crazy' interaction between the mental health system and the criminal justice system.
Mr. Earley's appearance in North Idaho is sponsored by NAMI Far North, the Boundary and Bonner County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force. The presentation is free to the public, with a donation of $10 at the door suggested.
NAMI Far North will also conduct a benefit 'Fall Bounty Basket Raffle' at the Pete Earley event. Raffle tickets will be available in the lobby of the Panida for $1 each or six for $5.
For more information, please call NAMI Far North at 208-597-2047.
