Jeff Noddle, Chairman And Ceo Of Supervalu, Inc. To Keynote 2009 ICF Annual Luncheon

Noddle to share his thoughts on corporate philanthropy and his personal giving philosophy

The Idaho Community Foundation, an Idaho-based, statewide community foundation supported by the public with individual and corporate donations, will hold its annual luncheon on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Boise Centre on the Grove from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.

Jeff Noddle, chairman and chief executive officer of SUPERVALU INC. - one of the largest companies in the United States grocery channel - will serve as the keynote speaker. Noddle is expected to share his thoughts on the state of corporate giving nationally, the globalization of philanthropy and his personal philosophy on giving. This is the first time in the recent past a corporate CEO has addressed the Idaho Community Foundation luncheon.

"Mr. Noddle is not only one of the top CEO's in this country, but he is also well-known for his leadership and commitment to philanthropy," said Alice Hennessy, interim president and chief executive officer of the Idaho Community Foundation. "The fact that he has agreed to share his insight and perspective on the corporate giving landscape is a tribute to his continued commitment to the state of Idaho."

In addition to his role as chairman of the SUPERVALU board of directors, Noddle serves on a number of industry and corporate boards. He is active in numerous civic affairs, currently serving on the Greater Twin Cities United Way board of directors and executive committee, the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management's Board of Overseers, and as a member of the executive committee of the Minnesota Business Partnership.

SUPERVALU has been a significant past sponsor of ICF's annual luncheon event and gave $2.5 million to non-profits, schools and community organizations throughout the state of Idaho in 2007. Under Noddle's leadership, SUPERVALU continues to be the single largest contributor to the United Way of Treasure Valley and gave $6.3 million companywide to the United Way last year.

The Idaho Community Foundation is a statewide nonprofit organization composed of more than 370 individual funds, pooled together for efficient management. Total assets are more than $70 million. Since it began making grants in 1991, ICF has made charitable distributions totaling more than $37 million.
