Corps to Hold Meeting on Libby Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold an informational meeting regarding 2008 Libby Dam operations on May 15 in the Ponderosa Room at the Libby City Hall, 7 to 9:30 p.m. MDT.

Representatives from the Corps will present information on operations for 2008, which will include an update on current water conditions, hydrological forecast and operations for fish.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss operations at Libby Dam as they relate to local and regional issues, and will also have the opportunity to hear the concerns and opinions of residents from throughout the Kootenai watershed.

Libby Dam is a multi-purpose water resource development. Its purposes are flood risk management, hydropower, fish and wildlife, and recreation.
