Mail-in applications will no longer be accepted for controlled hunt drawings. Hunters who are hoping to participate in controlled hunts for black bear or turkey this spring shouldn’t waste any time: The application period for spring controlled black bear hunts closes on Feb. 15, and the application for spring controlled turkey hunts closes on March 1.
Under new rules, Fish & Game will not be accepting mail-in applications for the controlled hunts. Hunters may apply at any hunting and fishing ventor, or Fish & Game office; by calling 800-554-8685, or online via the Fish & Game website.
A 2019 Idaho hunting license is required to apply. There is a non-refundable application fee of $6.25 for residents and $14.75 for non-residents.
Results will be made available by March 20, 2019.
