Life flight called in to expedite critical patient to Kootenai Health

Boundary EMS Paramedics responded around 1:20pm today, to a report of a patient trapped in logging machinery off of Cow Creek Rd. Medic 1’s Paramedic crew arrived on scene and began administering IV fluids with pain management. Medic 10 Captain/Paramedic arrived and quickly realized this would need possible surgical intervention and requested a surgical team.

BCSO deputies responded to Community Hospital and transported an ER Physician along with a surgeon and surgical team to the scene. Firefighters from BFFD operating with heavy rescue equipments efforts paid off and the patient was removed with multiple life threatening injuries. BAS Medics requested LifeFlight Helicopter for rapid transport, who landed and assisted with patient care.

After stabilizing the patient on scene, the patient was transported with multiple traumatic injuries to Kootenai Health.
